Clarice, Oliver and Sabastian

Clarice, Oliver, and Sebastian are miniature donkeys who came to us when our vet told us about a lady who was being forced to move and needed to rehome her beloved animals. We agreed to help this trio. Not having a trailer, we took our minivan. Seriously, no joke. It took seven people, including our vet, and the help of some sedative to coax these jokers into the van, but we did it and got them home safely.

Clarice, Oliver, and Sebastian are loaded with personality and opinions, not necessarily in that order on any given day. They are sweet, sassy, loving, and spunky. They are vocal and are not afraid to sign to the entire neighborhood.

Donkeys are a bit challenging. They get plump fast which is not good for them. We try hard to mange their weight while giving them enough pasture time and enrichment opportunities. They get hay when they are in their stall and eat a handful of balancer to makes sure their meeting their nutritional needs. Like horses, donkeys require regular hoof trimming. Hoof trim for the miniature donkeys is $50 per donkey per trim. They get their hooves trimmed 4 to 6 times per year depending on how fast their hooves grow. Clarice gets trimmed more often than Oliver and Sebastian.
